Well logging data processing and interpretation

Processing and interpretation of geophysical data of wells are based on the use of all available data logging of industrial geophysics data: core laboratory research, testing results, acoustic, electric, and nuclear methods of research in wells, etc. Existing technologies and methodologies provide processing of «Russian logging" data and well logging data of western companies.

Сurrent geological objective:

  • Scan and digitalization  of the materials of the old wells fund that recorded in the analog form;
  • Creation the geological and geophysical database;
  • Correlation and graphical distribution of well sections;
  • Litological distribution of well sections and definition of reservoir formations;
  • Analysis of core samples laboratory study, petrophysical correlation “core -core”,  “core – log data” type;
  • Identification and justification of quantitative criteria for the clarification of reservoir and non-reservoir formations and determine the nature of it saturation;
  • Preparation of estimation parameters, namely: the porosity coefficients values, oil gas saturation and effective power of reservoir formation for it further use in calculating of hydrocarbon reserves.
  • Processing and interpretation of reservoir structure objects - carbonate rocks, bedrock and others using a typical set and special well logging data processing techniques and methods;
  • Creation of geoacustic model for combine the seismic and well logging data (such model includes the coefficient of porosity, mineralogical composition of rocks, P-wave velocity, synthetic density, acoustic impedance, etc.).
  • Data identification for model creation such type as «well logging data - seismic» for solving geological objective of formation areal extend based on seismic data and creation of geological and technological models of underground gas storage

Well logging data interpretation results serve as a basis for the augmentation of oil and gas exploration confidence, three-dimensional geological models creation, justification for drill the wells, drawing up the development plans, oil and gas reserves economical evaluation, etc.


Technical instrumentation


ScanDigit – a software for scanning and digitization of the well logging curves. It allows to scan the charts automatically and records it in the image file, to digitize the image including visual control of curves accuracy.

« GIS Podschet» - Software that was designed for collection, storage and process of well logging data at the all stages of survey (preparation of the operational conclusions and calculation parameters). Software can be used both during the methodological studies related to the  well logging interpretation method and criteria choice, and during well logging processing by predetermined processing graphs.

Interactive Petrophysics – software for petrophysical interpretation. It is fast, flexible and reliable software that can be used by different specialists - petrophysics, reservoir geologists and oilfield developers. It helps to maximize the effectiveness geophysical data processing and interpretation by a high level of control and flexibility, friendly and intuitive interface.
